APN Settings Guide

The APN (Access Point Name) is a setting that tells your phone which gateway to use to connect to mobile data. In most cases your EscapeSIM plan sets the APN automatically — but if you're having trouble connecting after confirming Data Roaming is on, checking the APN is the next step.

Do I need to set the APN manually?

Usually, no. When you install an eSIM, the carrier profile configures the APN for you. However, if you see the correct carrier name on your phone but still can't load any pages, a missing or incorrect APN is a possible cause.

Finding your APN values

The APN values for your specific plan are included in your confirmation email under APN Settings. If you can't find them, contact our support team and quote your order number.

iPhone

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service.
  2. Tap your EscapeSIM plan.
  3. Tap Mobile Data Network (AU/UK) / Cellular Data Network (US).
  4. Under Cellular Data, check the APN field.
  5. If it is blank or incorrect, enter the value from your confirmation email.
  6. Leave Username and Password blank unless your email specifies otherwise.
  7. Tap Save (top right), then restart your iPhone.

Can't see Mobile Data Network (AU/UK) / Cellular Data Network (US)? A carrier profile may be controlling the APN. Try removing and reinstalling the eSIM, or contact support.

Google Pixel

  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs.
  2. Tap your EscapeSIM SIM.
  3. Tap Access Point Names (APN).
  4. Check that an APN entry exists and has a filled radio button (selected).
  5. If missing: tap the + or menu icon → New APN and enter the values from your email.
  6. If wrong: tap the entry and correct the APN field.
  7. Tap the menu → Save, then toggle Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds and back off.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks.
  2. Tap Access Point Names.
  3. Check that an entry exists with a filled circle (selected).
  4. If missing: tap the menu (⋮) → New APN and enter the values from your email.
  5. If wrong: tap the entry and correct the APN field.
  6. Tap Save, then toggle Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds and back off.

After updating the APN

  1. Turn Wi-Fi OFF.
  2. Open your browser and try loading google.com.
  3. If it still doesn't work, try toggling Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds then off again.
