If automatic network selection isn't working, manually choosing a carrier can restore your connection.
Manually Selecting a Network
Your phone normally picks the best network automatically. But when travelling, it can latch onto a weak or incompatible carrier. Manually selecting a network forces a fresh scan and connection attempt.
iPhone
- Go to Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service and tap your EscapeSIM plan (it may appear as Travel, Business, or the name it installed as).
- Tap Network Selection.
- Turn OFF Automatic.
- Your phone will scan for available networks — this can take 30–60 seconds.
- A list of carrier names will appear. Try each one — tap it and wait 15 seconds to see if data connects.
- Once you find one that works, you can leave it on manual or switch Automatic back ON.
Google Pixel
- Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → tap your EscapeSIM SIM.
- Tap Network operators → Search networks.
- Wait for the list to load, then tap each network to test.
- Once connected, tap Choose automatically to return to auto mode.
Samsung Galaxy
- Go to Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network operators.
- Tap Search networks and wait for the scan.
- Try each network in the list — tap and wait 15 seconds each.
- Once connected, tap Select automatically to return to auto mode.
Network list is empty?
An empty list usually means no coverage at your exact location. Try moving outdoors or to a different part of the building and scanning again.
