No Signal or "No Service"

If your status bar shows No Service, Searching, or has no signal bars at all, your phone can't find a compatible network. Here's how to diagnose it.

1. Check your location

Move to an open outdoor area — buildings, underground areas, and remote locations all reduce signal significantly. Walk outside and wait 2–3 minutes before testing again.

2. Cycle Airplane Mode

  1. Toggle Airplane Mode ON for 30 seconds.
  2. Toggle it back OFF.
  3. Wait 60 seconds for your phone to register with a network.

3. Manually select a network

Your phone may be stuck on an incompatible carrier. Force it to scan for available networks:

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → tap your EscapeSIM plan → Network Selection → turn OFF Automatic → wait 30–60 sec for the list.
  • Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → your EscapeSIM → Network operators → Search networks.
  • Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network operators → Search networks.

Try selecting each available network one at a time. If one works, you can leave it on manual or switch back to Automatic.

4. Check coverage

Confirm your destination country is covered by your plan. You can check on our Destinations page.

5. Still no networks in the list?

If the network scan returns an empty list, you are likely outside our coverage area for that specific location. Contact support and include your order number and current country.
