Fix an eSIM that will not connect

Let's fix your connection.

Step 1 / 4

Which eSIM is giving you trouble?

Your order number lets us check the eSIM before we guess. It is on your confirmation email.

Common eSIM problems and quick fixes

Try these first. If none of them helps, the steps above walk through the fix for your phone.

Open your mobile network settings, choose the travel eSIM as the line for mobile data, and turn on data roaming for that line. Then switch airplane mode on and off. Most "no data" problems are one of those two settings.
Restart the phone, then check you are in a country your plan covers. If there is still no signal, turn off automatic network selection for the eSIM line and pick a network from the list by hand.
The phone needs a Wi-Fi or mobile connection while it installs, and it has to be carrier-unlocked. If scanning still fails, add the eSIM manually with the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your order email.
Set the network mode for the eSIM line to automatic, or to 4G/5G, and move somewhere with better reception. Some plans slow down after a daily or total data allowance is used — the plan details on your order say whether yours does.
Most plans start when the phone first connects to a network in a country the plan covers, not when you install the eSIM. Check the plan details on your order for when yours begins.
An eSIM usually cannot be installed again once it has been deleted from the phone. Contact us with your order number before you buy another one and we will look at what can be done.
