If your eSIM is installed but you're not getting mobile data, work through this checklist.
eSIM Not Connecting to Data
This is the most common issue and almost always comes down to one of three settings. Work through these in order.
1. Enable Data Roaming
Data Roaming is off by default and must be enabled for your eSIM to work abroad.
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → tap your EscapeSIM plan (may appear as Travel, Business, or the name it installed as) → Data Roaming ON.
- Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → tap EscapeSIM → Roaming ON.
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Data roaming ON.
2. Set EscapeSIM as your data SIM
Your phone may still be using your home SIM for data.
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → Mobile Data (AU) / Cellular Data (US) → select EscapeSIM.
- Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Mobile data → EscapeSIM.
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → Mobile data → EscapeSIM.
3. Toggle the eSIM off and back on
- Go to your cellular/mobile data settings.
- Toggle your EscapeSIM plan OFF, wait 15 seconds, then toggle it back ON.
- Turn Wi-Fi OFF.
- Try Airplane Mode ON for 30 seconds, then OFF.
- Wait 60 seconds and test loading a website.
