How Long Does My Plan Last?

Validity depends on your specific plan. There are three different activation models — always check the plan description or your confirmation email to know which applies to you.

1. Activates on first use (most common)

The validity clock starts the first time your eSIM connects to data on the destination network. Installing the eSIM before your trip does not start the timer — it only starts when you actually use data abroad.

2. Activates on QR code scan

Some plans start counting down as soon as you scan the QR code and install the eSIM, regardless of whether you've used any data. If your plan works this way, it will be clearly stated in the plan description. Do not install the eSIM until you are ready to use it.

3. Valid from purchase date

A small number of plans (such as certain Japan plans) have a validity window that begins from the date of purchase, not installation or first use. This is also stated in the plan description.

Does the plan expire if I don't use it?

Yes. Once the validity period ends — regardless of how much data you've used — the plan expires. A 30-day / 3GB plan ends whichever comes first: 3GB used, or 30 days from the activation trigger for your plan type.

What if my trip is longer than the plan?

You'll need to purchase a new plan for the remainder of your trip. Contact support or visit our website to find a suitable plan for your destination.

Can I pause my plan?

Plans cannot be paused once activated. If you're travelling across multiple countries on separate dates, consider separate country-specific plans timed to each leg of your trip.
