Slow Data Connection

Slow eSIM data is usually caused by network congestion or your phone latching onto a congested or distant cell tower. These steps generally resolve it.

1. Force a network reconnection

  1. Toggle Airplane Mode ON for 30 seconds, then OFF.
  2. Wait 60 seconds and test speed again.

2. Try switching to LTE if you're on 5G

5G roaming can actually be slower than LTE in some countries due to limited coverage and backhaul.

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → tap your EscapeSIM plan → Voice & Data → select LTE.
  • Pixel: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → your EscapeSIM → Preferred network type → LTE.
  • Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network mode → LTE/4G only.

3. Try a different network manually

Select a different carrier from the network list — some carriers have faster data in specific areas.

  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → tap your EscapeSIM plan → Network Selection → turn OFF Automatic → select a different network.
  • Pixel / Samsung: Network operators → Search networks → try a different carrier.

4. Make sure you're testing on cellular, not Wi-Fi

Turn Wi-Fi fully OFF before running a speed test. If Wi-Fi is on, your phone may fall back to it even when you think you're testing the eSIM.
